Coldplay are coming to Barcelona

The band from London formed in 1996 includes four artists: Chris Martin, Singer-guitarist-pianist; Guy Berryman, guitarist; Jonny Buckland, guitarist; and Will Champion, drummer. They are known around the world for their recognisable soft style of pop-rock. Coldplay have won several prizes including seven Grammys, five NME Awards, eight Brit Awards, and six Q Awards. Though their melancholic sound has sometimes been criticised, they were deemed to be the fourth best group of the decade in 2000 by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Across their musical career, the group has collaborated with various charitable organizations including Amnesty International, Fairplay, and Teenage Cancer Trust.

• Parachutes Tour, was held in 2000 in Canada, USA, and the UK. It was their first tour, in which they presented their album "Parachutes". This musical tour took place in small venues with a total of 28 concerts.
• A Rush of Blood to the Heart World Tour took place two years later in 2002. On this tour they found resounding success in 70 countries over 15 months.
• Twisted Logic Tour in 2005 was their second world tour.
• Viva la Vida Tour was three years later in 2008, the scale of which was more than double that of the last. Over 168 concerts and more than $200m dollars in ticket sales. Coldplay became one of the most popular bands in the world.
• Mylo Xyloto Tour, included festival performances like Rock in Rio to promote their fifth album and included 85 concerts.
• Ghost Stories Tour took place in 2016 with 20 concerts across Asia, North America, and Europe. The reason for such few concerts was because the band wanted to make a tour that was much more discrete.
• A Head Full of Dreams Tour began on 31 March 2016 to promote their latest album. The group have lined up a total of 41 concerts, 2 of which will be at Barcelona's Olympic Stadium.
