Mar Bella Beach is located to the east of the Barcelona coast. It was created shortly before the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, taking advantage of the coastal urban redevelopment carried out for the occasion.

A calm beach that's far from the centre

Llevant beach is the latest sandy addition to Barcelona's coastline on the nothernmost part of the city. It was created in the summer of 2006 and is next to the Nova Mar Bella.

Somorrostro beach can be found by Hospital del Mar and Carrer de la Marina. It belongs to the section of beaches found in the Barceloneta district. You may not know, but Barcelona has many pools. The Forum Swimming Zone is unconventional when compared to the other pools and beaches. It's a saltwater "pool" with defined boundaries and offers a different way to experience the sea of Barcelona; without sand, far fewer people, and calmer, in addition to being surrounded by impressive architectural installations.

You only need to ensure you enter the water via the stairs and never stray from the defined swimming area. There are plenty of signs and broadcasts to keep you safe of course.
