A calm beach that's far from the centre
If you come to visit the capital of Catalonia, we will help you to find the best apartments for long term in Barcelona. We offer apartments of different types, renovated and well furnished in all areas of Barcelona!
Llevant beach is the latest sandy addition to Barcelona's coastline on the nothernmost part of the city. It was created in the summer of 2006 and is next to the Nova Mar Bella.
It was created by removing the Prim pier when renovating the Diagonal Mar neighbourhood. As the beach is so new, there are less services and equipment when contrasted with other beaches, but it has enough for your to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand without a problem. It's calmer and very appropriate for families, couples, or solo visitors.
There are some facilities available at the southern end of the beach, like a rope climbing frame for children, showers and lifeguard stations. There is also a beach bar, called Chiringuito Nueva Ola, to order a drink or a snack.
You can easily get to this beach by car, bike or public transport. Alongside the beach is a parking area. If you're traveling by subway you should take the yellow line to Selva de Mar or you can take the bus, line 7, 36, 41 or 141.

A central beach by Barceloneta
If you come to visit the capital of Catalonia, we will help you to find the best apartments for long term in Barcelona. We offer apartments of different types, renovated and well furnished in all areas of Barcelona!
Somorrostro beach can be found by Hospital del Mar and Carrer de la Marina. It belongs to the section of beaches found in the Barceloneta district. It's called Somorrostro because not so long ago it was home to a makeshift shantytown neighbourhood with the same name, which lasted for over 100 years before being destroyed in anticipation of a visit to the Catalan capital from Franco in 1966.
Being situated in Barceloneta, Somorrostro naturally has a very central location and convenient access by public transport. For this reason it is one of the favorite beach areas for young people, tourists, and of course some locals.

If you come to visit the capital of Catalonia, we will help you to find the best apartments for long term in Barcelona. We offer apartments of different types, renovated and well furnished in all areas of Barcelona!
You may not know, but Barcelona has many pools. The Forum Swimming Zone is unconventional when compared to the other pools and beaches. It's a saltwater "pool" with defined boundaries and offers a different way to experience the sea of Barcelona; without sand, far fewer people, and calmer, in addition to being surrounded by impressive architectural installations.
You only need to ensure you enter the water via the stairs and never stray from the defined swimming area. There are plenty of signs and broadcasts to keep you safe of course. Though not mandatory, it's recommended to use shoes when wandering by foot outside the pool as a colony of hedgehogs was discovered in the area.
The pools also have a disabled area with assisted swimming service. Volunteers assist in entry and exit of the water for swimmers with reduced mobility to enjoy the facilities, and if necessary there's a hydraulic chair.
The assisted service starts on June 1st during weekends and holidays and also during the second half of September from 11:00 - 14:00. Otherwise it's daily during July, August, and the first half of September.

- Buoys and defined bathing zones
