- Barceloneta: This city's old fishing quarter mainly has small studio flats of about 40 sq m (430 sq ft), but with beaches practically on your doorstep. The beaches in this neighbourhood are Sant Sebastià, Sant Miquel and Barceloneta. They are the most visited beaches in Barcelona with lots of restaurants, bars and clubs nearby. It's also a short walk from Las Ramblas and its many surrounding tourist attractions.
- Villa Olímpica: This part of Barcelona is famous for its harbour and water activities. It is next to the Barceloneta, but offers a central area that's slightly less busy. The beach of the neighbourhood is Nova Icaria. Apartments near beaches here are larger, at the city average of 60 sq m (650 sq ft) and normally sleep up to 6 people. These fully equipped flats are more suited for families or groups of friends, but also couples who want more space. This zone features a very active nightlife with famous beachside clubs.
Apartments near beach outside the centre
If you prefer to stay by calmer beaches then it is better to stay outside the centre, like in Poblenou or Diagonal Mar.
- Poblenou: This zone was once part of Barcelona's booming industrial revolution and goes from Mar Bella beach up to Torre Agbar. It is one of the most modern areas and always seems to be ahead of the rest of the city in terms of renovations. - Diagonal de Mar: As the name suggests, this neighbourhood is found at the end of the famous Avinguda Diagonal. This new district has undergone a dramatic transformation with the addition of the Fòrum. This new neighborhood, features new and mostly large apartments near beach with beautiful views of the sea and city. This location is ideal to enjoy Barcelona in an idyllic setting where you can enjoy the peace of the city in a luxury accommodation.
